KYMCO REVEAL ALL-NEW UXV 450i UTILITY SIDE-BY-SIDE
KYMCO have pulled the covers from the all-new UXV 450i compact utility side-by-side vehicle as the first salvo in the Taiwanese manufacturer’s reinvigorated attack on the Australian market.
The long-awaited UXV 450i marks the relaunch of the KYMCO brand as it repositions itself as a genuine competitor against the Japanese and American marques.
Arriving in showrooms this month, UXV 450i is an all-new model, standing as the first to use KYMCO’s compact side-by-side chassis, bench seat configuration, various new storage innovations and new fuel-injected 450cc engine with active engine braking.
Speaking at the launch, KYMCO Australia’s Michael Poynton, said the arrival of UXV 450i in Australia was timely as sales of utility side-by-sides were surging.
“Farmers are really shifting toward side-by-sides. UXV 450i will land in the market at a very competitive price and tick some key boxes.”
UXV 450i’s compact chassis has both a narrower track and shorter wheelbase which according to Poynton provides increased manoeuvrability and a tighter turning radius.
“It will go everywhere farmers wished they could take an ordinary side-by-side. In between fences or windrows, up orchard rows or around tight sheds, nothings a real challenge.”
The bench seat will comfortably accommodate passengers while UXV 450i will set the benchmark in storage with tilting cargo bed, in-tailgate, under-hood, under-seat and lockable in-dash storage.
“We’ve worked really hard to get this right. You’re not leaving anyone behind and there’s more than enough storage space. There’s even a trailer hitch as standard,” continued Poynton.
Set at 33HP, the new fuel-injected 450cc engine delivers smooth and efficient power while active engine braking works to retard excess speed.
“This is a new engine for us, the torque is great and the power is super smooth which is great for when you’re running around at low speed or reversing up to a trailer but there’s still plenty to get you seriously moving,” Poynton said.
The all-new UXV 450i is the first model in an onslaught of new KYMCO products for Australia.
“We’re going to have an extremely busy 2016. There is an incredible range of new products that have been developed with Australian customers in mind that are now ready to launch,” said Poynton.
“It’s time to ramp things up here and start delivering our farmers real value for money.”
